Yummy steak salad!

I love to cook, and so I wanted to share a really good salad I made the other day. I found the recipe at, which is a site I use very often. The measurements are in US.
I changed the green pepper to a little can of corn and didn't put the carrots in at all since it says that it should have them, but not how in the directions. Also in the end I didn't think they would fit so well with the rest in this salad. I also put some cashew nuts on top. This recipe is for 5 people, and I made for 2, but I kept the amount of dressing for 5. And it showed to be too much. Enjoy!

1 3/4 pounds beef sirloin steak
1/3 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
8 cups romaine lettuce - rinsed, dried, and torn into bite-size pieces
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 small green bell pepper, sliced
1 carrot, sliced
1/2 cup sliced red onion
1/4 cup sliced pimento-stuffed green olives

1.Preheat grill for high heat.
2.Lightly oil grate. Place steak on grill and cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let sit until cool enough to handle. Slice steak into bite size pieces.
3.In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Mix in the cheese. Cover and place dressing in refrigerator.
4.Onto chilled plates arrange the lettuce, tomato, pepper, onion and olives. Top with steak and drizzle with dressing. Serve with crusty grilled French bread. Enjoy!

The wheels on the bus goes round and round...part 4.

Well, being a observant person without a car I never really have a problem of not having anymore bus stories to tell. One of the weirdest (eventhough it's difficult to choose from all of them) happened just the other day when I was on my way to my artclass in the center. I was already running a bit late and so when I went to the bus stop and saw thebus leaving it didn't exactly make me any less stressed. So ofcourse I got superhappy when I saw that another bus (the same number) came towards me. Yes! I might make my class! As soon as I got on the bus, in the very front, I was relaxed. After just 4 stops the bustdriver suddenly said -"That's it. I'm going home!"
And so did I. With a huge questionmark on my face.

We have a ghost!

We must have a ghost. And not just any ghost - a cleaning ghost! There's no other explanation for what has been going on here.
When I came home yesterday the clothes was still in the wash and I was thinking that since they had been there for a couple of days and getting nice and cozy I should probably put it back on. Ah well, later. After watching TV for a while and heading for bed, I remembered the wash and went to put it on. But it was already on. Apparently Simo hadn't put it on, and it seemed just silly to even ask Henrik, but I did anyway. And right on; "why would he", as he said.
Seriousely, NOBODY had put the wash on, and Simo even got a bit irritated when I kept asking him about it.
Another explanation anyone?
(Come to think of it, this might come in handy...!)

Robin Hood, eat your heart out!

I've always liked archery, and I tried it when I was 10 years old. I thought I was pretty good as I can remember, but hey, what was my perspective back then? So I've been trying to find out a bit about archery here and where to get to try it out, and I found a place and took Henrik with me. The place offered the equipment and a little training really cheap and you could stay for 2 hours. The people there were really helpfull, eventhough most of the teaching was with bodylanguage as most of the older guys there didn't really know how to speak much english at all. Henrik showed to actually have so real talent for this stuff, and I could see the instructor getting pretty big eyed. I will definately try it again, and who knows - wasn't I supposed to get a new hobby in 2011?

Sorry about the low volume in the video, it was so quiet there that eventhough Henrik and I were babbling loudly in Norwegian most of the time, I suddenly must have gotten a bit camera shy. Which is rare.

Oh brother!

My littlebrother is visiting from Norway this week, and it's nice 'cause I haven't seen him in a long time. It's winter holiday in Norway now in school, so he has all the time in the world to hang out here, but unfrotunately - I don't.
So appearantly, after having absolutely nothing to do on vacation, oh lord, you end up taking pictures of your own muscles...that with some turning around end up looking like an butt. Fun fun fun! (And even more fun to put it on my blog.)
The previous post might have inspired me for more butt stories. Hm.

Ok...time to go to bed I think.

I'm just a girl!

When I showed Simo this picture and went OMGOMGOMG, I got one reaction.
"Pppfff...that's OLD." And apparantly it is, as I read about that Blizzard had to chose between this game or World of Warcraft when they were gonna focus on a big one to launch around the world a few years ago.
If you for some reason haven't noticed a big shiny butt flashing your way, I suggest that you turn off the computer right now and get some sleep. You need it.

Having a slight nerd for a boyfriend, I thought I had seen most things when it comes to gaming, but this one stuck...well; out.
Of course I knew that for some reason that I seriousely don't believe in, we have to degrade men (yes you heard me - MEN, not women) enough to believe that they can't simply play a game and ATLEAST not a women character without having her slightly naked. And this image took the meaning of "butt naked" to completely new hights.
I understand that this if true for some people, and I understand that in the world of Starcraft Ghost, it's not always easy to find the time or place to take a shit, and of course that's when a suit like this is really handy, I mean, why not shit first and ask later? It's not like she's gonna distract anyone is it, considering that she's fighting alone, and it's not sexist. The girl has the right to shit and piss in the open privacy of space. So where's the men? I'm waiting for the sequel.

Troopla di, troopla da, life goes oooo-ooon...

la la la la life goes on.
On saturday I was on yet another Star Wars troop. This time for a toymuseum that is a bit outside Helsinki center. I've trooped there a couple of times before, but this was a bit of a special event as one of the members and big Star Wars collector handed over much of his collection to the museum. I think there was a lot of hearts thumping extra hard that day - both for joy and maybe a tiiiiny bit for sorrow?

Anyway, I was really eager to troop (eventhough it meant I had to get up early on a saturday), and especially since this time we got food for free at the museum! But for some reason (which I don't think was the food) I felt a bit ill after we had lunch, and I had to take it easy most of the time in the changingroom after that. I think know exactly what it was, but I know a lot of stuff is going around in the air right now...I just hope I don't watch anything for the USA trip.
And you can see how little active I was with the photo above being the best of me from the whole troop.

Hm. Come to think of it, it might be the smell of my own sweat from the costume that haven't been washed since it was made that made me sick. Time to wash I guess. Ah well.

Delayed painting is finally done...

OK, so this one is REALLY delayed; as it was supposed to be my dad's CHRISTMAS present! But I used my time at art class to finish this one, because it has been weighing on my mind for quite a while, and it's so nice to be done. It's been a real learning experience as I've never done a serious landscape painting, and I'm pretty satisfied with the result. Merry christmas dad!

The girl is BAD! The girl is DANGEROUS!

Yesterday I had the most fun I've had in a looong time! I met with some other Michael Jackson fans and friends from Helsinki to be part of a 5 hour long dance course based on Michael's "Dangerous". I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and I wasn't dissapointed. We met and went to the huge sports hall where the organizer (who did a brilliant job) had rented a room for us. We learned some basic steps first that looked simple, but really wasn't! As soon as you got into the rhytm and feel of the whole thing it was easier though, and I simply loved the whole 5 hours! Some people said that I didn't seem tired after the course and that I didn't even seem to break a sweat, and I think that my 5 days a week hard workout at the gym is paying off...but I DO feel it today though...

After the dancing course we went to a fan's place to have a little party! We weren't sure if we should stay there or go out on the town later, but we ended up staying and we had a great time. She had organized a MJ quiz about his music videos and another girl and I split the 1st place. I think I had a bit too much snacks though, so today I can feel my stomach pulling me down towards the sofa...

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is coming!

Oh. My. God.
As you've probably noticed, I love to play Nintendo Wii, and ESPECIALLY the LEGO games. I have all of them and my favourite right now is Harry Potter, with Star Wars following closely behind.
And today I read in the news that LEGO Pirates of the Carribean will hopefully be out in the summer! I can't wait!!!
