My "new" painting!

Well, actually, it's not exactly new. It's a copy of Fransisco de Zurbaran's painting from the 17th century, called "Meditation of Saint Francis".
I decided to do a copy because it's very educational and it was a lot of fun! I've been working on it for maybe a month or a bit more in art class. I finished today, and my friend took some pictures for me (since I still haven't bought a new camera since it got stolen). Thanks, Gabhán!

(It's not lit in a good way so some of the colours are wrong, like the dark parts are highlighted from outside lighting.)

And then easter was gone...

...but it has been 4 wonderful days, and like I said, I have been able to relax a whole lot. Paint? A bit. Not as much as I wanted to, but to be honest I just wanted to relax and not stress. We have been making lots of good easter food. It's traditional to eat lamb here, and so we made roasted lambleg with zucchini and mushroom salad. We also made our own lemonade which was REALLY good! The trick to it was to put a tiny bit of salt into the boiling sugar-water to take away the bitterness.

Also in Finland, you eat a dessert called Pasha. It's made of Quark and is left to drain overnight until it's firmer. It's mixed with dried fruts and nuts. I sort of like it, but I think we made it with too much fruit.

Milla liked it for sure!

The weather has been beautiful here and I feel like I'm getting new energy all the time, eventhough I've been a bit sick yesterday and today. Hopefully you've all had a good easter! Back to reality!

Happy easter!

Happy easter everyone!
Finally the flowers are popping up, the sun is shining and the youth is running around screaming for no reason instead of simply coming up to you, point at themselves and saying -"Hi. I excist."
It's spring.

So I'm using this beautiful day to clean the appartment while The Simpsons is running free on DVD. No stress, it's all good and it's good to get it done. I can use the rest of the easter holiday to paint and relax.
Hope you're all having a great holiday and eating lots of candy!

Model Expo 2011.

So once again, one of the things I've been looking forward to for a long time is over; the biggest Star Wars trooping of the year in Finland: Model Expo. I haad the same costume as last time; Padme's Packing Gown from Episode 2.
We even had a couple of troopers from a galaxy far far away (Norway and Sweden) with us, Anton and Øyvind and Anton had brought a gift for me! He has made me a great version of Padme's Battle outfit blaster! So now there's no excuse at all to be lazy.

On saturday it was quite a lot of people, but it didn't seem like as many as last year. People were shy though, and didn't approach us very easily. We had a cool stand this year with a Tatooine background and a vaporator as well as our logo next to Unicef's which was our charity as usual.

After the troop we went to an afterparty at "Club Obi-Wan". We had a great evening, with outdoor fun for Milla, Jaako and me, playing with a styrofoam airplane. We had yummy pasta and cakes and a lot a laughs. We were all clearly overtired.

On sunday there were far less people, and we figured out that it was probably because it was a voting day here in Finland. Actually the day was pretty calm. I tried to be at the stand as much as possible though, and since I haven't been wearing my MBT shoes for a while I got really tired in my back. I use them under the dress because it is great for balance.

Since I don't have a camera yet, I don't have a lot of photos, but I will post some more here when I get some from others.

Lightsaber need.

I finally got the new lightsaber I ordered a while ago! It's Mace Windu's (Samuel L. Jackson) and the blade or purple. Very cool. *nerd*
However, it seems like it's a bit broken somehow, since when in my happy victory dance I discovered that when you hit objects (or people) the blade makes a sound as if something is loose inside. Oh well. Lightsaber goes back to store and I get a new one.

When you say nothing at all...

It's been quiet lately. And that's because I haven't had that much to write about. Life is like it normally is: work, gym, artclass, weekend and candy. And all the plans for the weekends that usually don't happen because at that time you're too tired to realize them. I guess life is NOT like a box of chocolate right now. I DO know I'm gonna get, and it's in a shape of a easter egg.
Something interessting HAS happened though, and that is the biggest event in Finland of the snowmelting and hoping for a brighter future that is called Spring.
I can feel some energy returning to these frozen bodies of us, and new scheming projects are shaping themselves in my mind.

More pictures from Florida!

Since I have absolutely NOTHING interesting (or boring) to write about these days, I decided to share some more pics from Florida with you.
These pics are mostly taken by Hege with her camera.
Thanks Hege!

The ONLY healthy breakfast they had at our hotel: oranges!

A Lego seamonster in Downtown Disney.

Fuzzball and Hooter from Captain EO (yes, they belong to me now).

Just GOTTA have Doritos!

Hege's tattoo!

So this is the result of Hege's Michael Jackson tattoo that she took in Miami Ink when we were in Florida. The tattoo has gotten some time to heal and you can see better how it's turning out.
I think it's one of the best Michael Jackson tattoos around.
