Seeing that for some reason it's been a real boost of appreciation of official "DAYS" on Facebook lately, often those that are quite incignificant, like yesterday's day: Waffle Day, I found that I was highly irritated by the constant preassure of consuming. I have been for some while, especially after visiting a lot of different blogs and YouTube channels, mostly by girls. So this was sort of the top of the iceberg for me, and I was curious about the reality of these "days" and how some of them can be so important and political like "Woman's Equality Day" while all of a sudden you have the international "What if Cats and Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs Day" for example. Somehow, to me, it makes the days that actually makes us think less important and more like a joke. Of course I understand that these days are created by businesses and are quite valuable to them, but I still have to wonder about some of the day's and the meaning of them. Here are some of the weirdest days I could find: JANUARY: Polar Bear Swim Day Copyright Law Day Drinking Straw Day I'm Not Going To Take It Anymore Day Bubble Bath Day Earth's Rotation Day Step In A Puddle And Splash Your Friends Day Rubber Duckie Day Nothing Day Tin Can Day Answer Your Cat's Questions Day Measure Your Feet Day Belly Laugh Day Beer Can Appreciation Day Talk Like A Grizzled Prospector Day FEBRUARY: Working Naked Day Lame Duck Day Wave All Your Fingers At Your Neighbour Day Laugh and Get Rich Day Toothache Day Extraterrestrial Culture Day My Way Day Introduce a Girl To Engineering Day Sword Swallowers Day Curling is Cool Day MARCH: Old Stuff Day What If Cats and Digs Had Opposable Thumbs Day Absinthe Day Frozen Food Day Middle Name Pride Day Get Over It Day Check Your Batteries Day False Teeth Day Panic Day Day of Awesomeness Fill Your Staplers Day Earmuffs Day Open An Umbrella Indoors Day Snowman Burning Day Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day Something On A Stick Day So yeah...I will save all the EXCITING new days for the beginning of every new month for you. Just to celebrate. Something.

So I've taken a step into a larger world and decided to do some Star Wars art. I wanted to try out some new media, particularly watercolour and started a bit slowly with making that the background. Then I used ink and pastel for drawing the face. It was a lot of fun. For some reason the thumbnail of this video is blank on my YouTube channel which is super annoying. I don't know why and have written to YouTube but let's see if it helps...enjoy the video though!

Last weekend we had another movie night with my gals. Apparently it's getting quite popular and that's great! Probably many people would think that watching The Wizard of Oz with a bunch of girls might be boring, but not when it seemed to be more of a horror film for some of us. I've seen it before, but if I would have seen it as a child I would be SO freaked out by the little people and flying monkeys that I would probably be scarred for life. Weird, since Alice in Wonderland was my favourite film as a child and there's plenty of weird ass things in that! But anyways...it helped to end the evening with watChing Simon and Garfunkel and Michael Jackson and think that maybe next movie night might be a horror film for REAL!
We were all pretty happy to see spring, oh spring coming towards us in a rapid fashion - especially Milla, who saw a great opportunity to use the good weather for longer walks. And a couple of days it lasted, and better moods we got and Simo and I even walker home from the Helsinki center AFTER I had spent 2 hours at the gym. 9 km. that is. So pretty much, NOTHING could stop us! Except snow...welcome to Scandinavia.

Today I ordered my flight tickets to Gothenburg, Sweden for their annual Sci-Fi convention there! I am super excited as I usually go to the convention in Stockholm, and haven't been there since I was little. Also there will be some cool celebrities from films and TV shows. I haven't trooped at all this year, so I'm looking forward to that also! Yay! The convention is from April 26th to 27th.

I rarely do any commercial for products on my page, as I think it's way enough of that on blogs and feel like there's enough commercial around anyway. But no - this is not about what hair extensions or make-up foundation I use (even though I'm a female blogger), but something that can change lives, at least for tired mornings... It's been tough falling asleep lately, which has of course made it tough to get up as well. So Simo and I got a wake up light from Philips which is absolutely amazing! It gives natural light 30 minutes before your wake up time, which makes your waking up smooth and comfortable. As an alarm, you can chose from different sounds. We have chosen forest birds. It should be on your night stand to give the best effect, but we don't have one, so we have it on a table a bit further from the bed. It works!
